Although he is not from New Orleans, Ben Arnold's single "Nola" off of his new album Nevermind My Blues combines his love of New Orleans while reflecting on what happened during the dark days that followed Hurricane Katrina.

The (re)Birth of Renew Orleans

It's a simple concept for a complicated time - solidarity. When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans on August 29, 2005, both the people and the city itself were unequipped and unprepared for what lay ahead. Weeks after the hurricane, Ropeadope initially released Renew Orleans and we raised $80,000 for New Orleans musicians. Two years later, there is still plenty of rebuilding that needs to be done on homes as well as New Orleans' vibrant and rich culture. You can purchase Renew Orleans apparel at the Ropeadope Store. Also, check us out at imeem.
